Hazelnut Cream Candy

  • 1 cup roasted & chopped Oregon hazelnuts
  • 1 pack semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar|Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp rum flavoring
1 Melt chocolate in double boiler or small bowl over hot water.
2 If chocolate should stiffen, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons shortening|vegetable shortening until smooth.
3 Whip cream, add Granulated sugar|Sugar and flavoring.
4 Fold in slightly cooled chocolate.
5 Chill until mixture is firm enough to form into balls, then roll in finely chopped hazelnuts.
6 Chill until firm.
7 Store in refrigerator.
